On Friday, April 20, 2012,
Galloway Police Officer Robert Bauer was on Patrol at 5pm and observed a
suspicious vehicle (2008 Dodge Charger, black) parked at the Shops at
Galloway. Several persons were observed standing around the vehicle. Upon
observing the police vehicle, a female entered the Charger, removed items and
walked onto a trail into a neighboring residential area with a group of males.
Officer Bauer conducted a look up of the vehicle's registration number and
found it had been reported stolen on April 12, 2012 from Pleasantville.
Additional officers responded to assist. Officer Jason Kiamos and Officer
Bauer located the female, a 16 yr old from Galloway, hiding behind a residence
on Cherokee Dr where she was detained. The group of males was stopped on
Cherokee Dr by Officers Kevin Costa and Daniel Choe. Sgt Richard Barber
responded to view video surveillance at the Shops at Galloway. Sgt Barber
relayed the description of a male observed operating the vehicle when it first
arrived. One of the males, matching the description provided by Sgt Barber,
then fled on foot after hearing Sgt Barber's radio transmission. Officers
pursued the male through the complex, a wooded area and into a neighboring
complex (Apache Ct) where he was tackled by Officer Jason Kiamos. The male,
Regie Langley age 18 of Galloway, was taken into custody with assistance from
Officer Daniel Choe. Langley was charged with Possession of Stolen Property,
(2008 Dodge Charger) Resisting Arrest, Obstruction of Justice and Hindering
Apprehension. Langley was charged and released. The 16 yr old female was not
charged.
