Incident Type: Unlawful Possession of a Weapon Date and Time of Incident: December 18, 2012 at approximately 02:00PM Accused Name / City / Age: 16 year-old male juvenile Incident Location: 300 Block of E. Spencer Ln. Misc. / Other Related Information: At approximately 2PM, the Galloway Twp Police was contacted by School Administrators from the Cedar Creek High School. The officials advised that a student who lived in Galloway Twp, demonstrated behavior that caused them to be concerned. The student was removed from Cedar Creek and brought to the Galloway Twp Police Department. There was no indication that there were any threats made or that there was any danger related to anyone at Cedar Creek High School. Investigators from Galloway Twp, joined by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office went to the student’s residence located in 300 block of East Spencer Lane and found several items to include electronic parts and several types of chemicals that when mixed together could cause an explosion. The 16 year old male student was charged with possession of a weapon; an explosive device and was placed in Harbor Fields. As a precaution, both police and school officials requested a sweep of Cedar Creek High School utilizing bomb sniffing dogs. Nothing was located. The Atlantic City Police Department’s Bomb Squad responded to assist along with the Oceanville Fire department and Galloway EMS. Additionally Egg Harbor City Police along with K9s from Hamilton Twp Police Department, Atlantic City Police Department, Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department, 2 units from Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department, Millville Police Department, and Salem County Sheriff’s Department assisted.
