Employment Opportunities

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Galloway Township Police Department.  For those who did not attend the physical fitness test, and those who participated but were unable to successfully complete the test, we wish you the best in your continued job search and wherever your career paths may take you.  We hope you will consider our agency during future hiring opportunities.

Congratulations to applicants who successfully completed the PT test.  Interviews will take place during the week of November  18.  Not all applicants will proceed to the interview.  We will start with an initial group of about 25, and then interview subsequent groups as needed.  The first-round group is being finalized.  You will contacted by Tuesday November 5 to schedule a date and time for your interview.  You will also receive a formal application to be completed and submitted prior to the interview.

Applicants not selected for the first round of interviews will also be notified by Tuesday November 5. You will remain in the applicant pool for consideration through the current round of hiring, and through any subsequent hiring in 2014.

If you decide to withdraw from our hiring process at any time, please let us know, no questions asked.

If you have questions after notification on Tuesday, please contact Sergeant Picardi at 038@gtpd.org or 609-652-3705 x332.  Thank you for your continued patience as we work our way through almost 500 initial applicants.

The hiring process is anticipated to be completed on or near January 2014.

Physical Fitness Test Description

A career with the Galloway Township Police Department will bring you the opportunity to make a difference to the people in your community. Galloway Township is a diverse, rapidly growing community and the Galloway Township Police Department is growing along with it.  There has never been a better time to join our ranks.

The Department's process for the hiring of new full time police officers begins with the submission of a current resume, followed by a physical fitness test, oral interviews, psychological and physical examinations, drug screening and an extensive background investigation. Examinees do not receive formal applications until they have satisfactorily passed the necessary physical fitness test and resume review. This process produces a list of possible candidates and is conducted on a need to basis. Please do not send unsolicited resumes.

At the commencement of a new process, announcements are placed in the Press of Atlantic City, this web site and other publications.

*Note: Those who have graduated a full time police academy through the alternate route program are statutorily ineligible for part time sworn officer employment.

The Township of Galloway is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
