Message to the Community:

   The Galloway Township Police Department is committed to actively engaging in Community Oriented Policing as an overarching philosophy of our organization. As such, we have dramatically increased our crime prevention and outreach efforts to provide more ways for the community to build lasting bonds with our Officers and sustain trust in law enforcement overall.


   Integrity is the basis of public trust in law enforcement in addition to honesty and transparency in the delivery of police services. The men and women of the Galloway Township Police Department strive to provide exceptional service in the areas of criminal and traffic enforcement, community support and engagement, crime prevention and volunteerism. For these reasons and more, I am very proud of our standing in the community.

Chief Donna A. Higbee  

Chief's Biography:

Born and raised in Galloway Township, Chief Higbee is a 1994 Graduate of Absegami High School and a 1998 Graduate of Stockton State College with a Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.

In May of 1999, she was hired by the City of Wildwood Police Department as a Class 2 Officer and she attended the Cape May County Police Academy.

In September 1999, she was hired full time by the Hamilton Township Police Department where she served as a patrol officer for 3 years before returning to her hometown of Galloway Township as a Patrol Officer in 2002.

In 2004, she graduated from Seton Hall University with a Master’s degree in Human Resources Education and a Master’s certificate in Business Leadership and Management.

Over the past 15 years in Galloway Township, she has served in every rank and division that the department has to offer from Patrol Officer to Patrol Corporal then Patrol Sergeant. She was a Detective Sergeant, Lieutenant, and an Acting Captain prior to being promoted to the rank of Chief of Police June 1st, 2015.

During her tenure with Galloway Township she was a Field Training Officer, a Crisis/Hostage Negotiator, a Bicycle Patrol Instructor and served on the Department’s Honor Guard Unit as the Director for 10 years.

Chief Higbee is a graduate of Top Gun and a 2015 graduate of The New Jersey State Chiefs of Police West Point Command and Leadership Academy. In November 2016, Chief Higbee received her certification as an accredited Chief Executive through the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police ACE-COP Program.
