The Communications Division is staffed by 17 Full-time and 2 Part-time Civilian Communications Operators. Our professional staff is responsible for all of Galloway Township, Mullica Township, the City of Port Republic, and the City of Absecon's Public Safety Communications, which encompasses approximately 187 square miles with 3 Police Departments, 11 Fire Companies, and 2 Ambulance Squads that covers Galloway, Egg Harbor City, Port Republic, and Absecon. This coverage also includes several miles of US Highway 30 (White Horse Pike), State Highway 9 (New York Road), and the Garden State Parkway. Some of their tasks include receiving Emergency 9-1-1 and non-emergency phone calls, dispatching Police, Fire and EMS, operating several computer systems, monitoring internal/external security systems, and much more. Our center is equipped with 5 dispatch consoles, utilizing Harris Symphony Dispatch Consoles, which operate on the Atlantic County P25 Phase II Radio System and the Zetron Max Call-Taking 9-1-1 PSAP System. The Communications Division is under the administrative command of Lt. Scott Winneberger and is supervised by Communications Supervisor Liz Longo.
